Most people think that there is heaven and there is earth, but did you know that the Bible talks about 3 different heavens? It’s mind blowing – I can see your head exploding right now or perhaps your skeptical. Let me prove it to you.
Deuteronomy 28:12, “The Lord will open for you His good storehouse, the heavens, to give rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hand; and you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.”
Acts 14:17, “and yet He did not leave Himself without witness, in that He did good and gave you rains from heaven and fruitful seasons, satisfying your hearts with food and gladness.”
Can you guess what the first heaven is? You’re right, it’s our sky or atmosphere.
Psalm 19:4, “Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their utterances to the end of the world. In them He has placed a tent for the sun…”
Jeremiah 8:2, “They will spread them out to the sun, the moon and to all the host of heaven, which they have loved and which they have served, and which they have gone after and which they have sought, and which they have worshiped.”
Are you figuring out the 2nd heaven?
Okay, one more scripture:
Isaiah 13:10, “For the stars of heaven and their constellations will not flash forth their light;
The sun will be dark when it rises and the moon will not shed its light.”
Yes, you’re right, it’s what we consider to be outer space, where the stars and planets that God created exist in the physical realm and where the angels and demons travel.
2 Corinthians 12:2, “I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven.” Verse 4, “was caught up to paradise and heard inexpressible things, things that no one is permitted to tell.”
Luke 23:43, “Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
Psalm 2:4, “The One enthroned in heaven laughs; The LORD scoffs at them.”
Matthew 5:16, “In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
I gave you a few more clues to this one, even though you probably already had this one figured out. The third heaven is where God the Father lives and where Jesus is now seated at His right hand.
So, there you go, three heavens. You just learn something new every day.
