At the time of writing this blog post, we have been dealing with the Covid-19 virus, economic shut down, race injustice riots, violence, looting, and more; all this in the first five months of 2020. Clearly there is something big going on in the spirit realm. In this post, I'm going to quickly break down what I and others are seeing, because what happens in the physical realm always follows what happens in the spirit realm.
Remember what the Apostle Paul said in Ephesians 6:12 (NIV), "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."
The media would have us believe that we are fighting against a virus, conspirators, big government, the police, rioters and looters, but we are not! We are fighting against the demonic entities that are motivating the physical actions we are seeing. This is always true, so no matter when you are reading this post, the things you are seeing in the physical world are being motivated by the spirit world - both good and bad.
So, I'm seeing three things in the spirit realm that are being played out in the physical realm:
Fear - The Covid-19 virus has killed a good many thousands of people, so clearly it is real and dangerous. However, the media would have all of us believe that it's like the bubonic plague and it is likely to wipe human life off the face of the earth. It's called sensationalism. Basically, it's either stretching the truth or outright lies. Lately, probably more of the latter. Fear is always demonically motivated and right now, they are heavily using the media and social media for their agenda. Faith, on the other hand is spiritual building material. Our job, as true disciples of Jesus Christ is to have faith that God is still sovereign and He has a plan. So, stay peaceful, read and study the Word of God to build your faith, and pray. The prayers of a righteous person is powerful. 2 Corinthians 10:4 says we have weapons to pull down demonic strongholds. Speaking the Word of God and prayer are among those. So, go to battle against fear in your life and the world!
Anger - The horrific killing of an African American man by a police officer has created anger and rage. What was done was terribly wrong and those involved will be punished. Unfortunately, the reaction was demonically charged - rioting, looting, attacking police officers, and burning vehicles. Instead of getting on social media and condemning these acts, let's pray for the peace of God. Philippians 4:7 (NIV) says, "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." So, pray for peace in your home, family, neighborhood, city, state, and country. Remember your prayers are a powerful weapon.
Greed - Unfortunately, there are many wealthy and demonically motivated people who are trying to benefit from all that is going on right now. This has always been the case and will continue to be so into the future. The enemy wants us to fear losing our money, hoarding key items, and seeking ways to protect ourselves. The motivation is selfish and self-focused, which is definitely not of God. God's answer is to trust in Him as our provider. He wants us to be generous with what He gives us. So, our response to all the worldly greed is to give of our money, time, and talents to help others. Also, again, pray that a spirit of generosity would break out and overwhelm the greed.
Right now it may feel like it's hopeless, but God . . .
